Attracted to the unique climate, Ian Hostetter moved to the Bay Area from Southern California, first studying at Sonoma State University and then at the Art Institute of San Francisco where he earned a BS in Interior Design. Initially working for a home furnishings retailer, Ian developed a
keen sense of taste and balance in the home. Later as a design consultant, he confidently guided
clients to realize and express their own personal style.
Ian’s interest for design began as a youngster. While other boys might doodle in art class, Ian could often be found with a sketching pad in hand, drafting elaborate layouts from scratch. Sensing his interest in the field, Ian’s mother took him to open houses on weekends where he could imagine, re-invent, create and get inspired. And so emerged a love of design and real estate.
Pairing his experience in visual merchandising and design, Ian is able to market his client’s homes in a manner which highlights even the most minor detail. Ian’s listings make a statement on the market. Ian prides himself on being helpful and a good listener, always an advocate for his clients; he goes that extra mile to bring a smile to their face, doing so with integrity, respect, curiosity, knowledge and kindness.
With a love of people and passion for cooking and entertaining, Ian enjoys planning and hosting large parties, entertaining hundreds of guests at his home. When relaxing, Ian spends time with his dog Charlie, walking and discovering trails of many Bay Area parks. Having trained as a professional dancer, Ian continues a love of the arts, attending performances and volunteering as an usher. He also enjoys outdoor swimming in the area and working in his garden. Ian is excited to be working with Berkshire Hathaway, surrounded by so many great
knowledgeable colleagues in this exciting market.
